Perception of Boundaries

Through the construction of small compositions and combinations of food, formed into bolus like structures, the substances appear as though they have been chewed up and spat out.

Drawing on the theory of abjection, as considered in the writing of Julia Kristen and Rina Arya, I consider the perceived crossing of the boundary from inside to outside of the body, which renders the food contaminated/polluted by bodily fluid (saliva) and therefore unpalatable.
